COMMENTARY #2

For more than two decades, Malaysia's Anwar Ibrahim had a dream of an inclusive, multiracial and compassionate Malaysia.

Now as Prime Minister, has the opportunity to realize this vision. Several key steps that he might consider the following steps.

1. First, Consolidating Coalitions needs to take importance in his governance. In order to lead, Anwar's goal is ensuring that coalition partners are able to consistently rally behind him.

2. Second, Finding the Silver Lining will become a uniting force for coalition partners. It would be wise for Anwar to make economic development a cornerstone for his administration. This would help coalition partners rise above political mudslinging.

3. Third, Anwar's International Presence is crucial to show the world that "Malaysia's back". He is a senior political figure that is well respected amongst Southeast Asia and this can be maximized to restore credibility.

Anwar’s dream for Malaysia is one that is peaceful, multiracial and compassionate. His decades fighting for this dream is finally inching closer and closer into a possible reality. If Anwar succeeds, Malaysia will not only reset, but thrive as a pedestal of reform and revival.
